Shift/Time Zone:Monday – Friday: 7a – 3:30p
Duration: 3-4 Months
State of Credentials Licenses Required:Phlebotomy Certification or Medical Assistant Certification with Phlebotomy training
Position Overview:
The Phlebotomist III - Float serves as a vital representative of our company, providing compassionate and professional blood collection services to patients in various healthcare settings. This role involves drawing high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while strictly adhering to established protocols and safety standards. The Phlebotomist III - Float interacts directly with patients, fostering an environment of trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures and ensuring accurate, safe, and efficient blood draws.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform blood collection and specimen preparation across multiple locations, including Patient Service Centers (PSC), mobile units, long-term care facilities, and physician offices, as required by business needs.

Provide coverage and support for various roles within assigned locations, ensuring smooth daily operations and timely completion of all tasks.

Act as a lead on site, mentoring and coaching Phlebotomist IIs and Patient Service Representatives (PSRs), facilitating onboarding and serving as a resource for new employees.

Maintain strict confidentiality and accuracy when handling patient information and specimens.

Manage high-volume, complex, and specialized blood collection orders, collaborating effectively with multiple internal departments such as Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics.

Demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical training (e.g., Medical Assistant or Paramedic certification) preferred.

Phlebotomy certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington; preferred in other locations.
Experience:
-
Minimum of five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

At least three years experience working in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) setting preferred.

Prior customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.
