Biomed Equipment Specialist
Job Title: Biomed Equipment Specialist

Department: Biomedical Engineering (Scott Colby) / IT - Technical Support (Donald Farris)
Pay Rate: $22.00 – $34.00/hr (bill rate $35.00 – $52.00/hr)
Dates: November 3, 2025 – January 31, 2026
Shifts: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, with on-call rotation
Job Summary:
Provide medical equipment management, preventative maintenance, and repair to support patient care and ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and cost control within Saint Francis Health System.
Key Responsibilities:

Repair, calibrate, install clinical and dialysis equipment.

Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance on medical devices.

Provide emergency equipment service during surgeries and clinical use.

Maintain detailed equipment records including parts, labor, and contract services.

Train and instruct staff on equipment use and safety standards.

Support hospital quality improvement programs and meet competency requirements.

Participate in after-hours on-call duties as needed.

Exercise independent technical judgment and coordinate with other healthcare professionals.
Required Skills & Experience:

1-2 years related experience.

Proficient with computers, hand tools, diagnostic equipment (DVMs).

Able to troubleshoot, follow service manuals, and document work properly.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Able to interact professionally with staff at all levels, including management.
Education & Certifications:

High School Diploma or GED required.

No specific certifications required or preferred.
