Payrate: $28.66/hr. on w2

Job Summary:
- The Scheduling Specialist II assists in the coordination of Patient Procedure/Surgical schedule.
- The Specialist II collaborates in the management and scheduling of complex surgical procedures that may require multiple appointments, as well as add-ons and emergent procedures, facilitating communication between patients, physicians, multiple Organization departments, and staff members.
- Collaborates with Insurance Verification Specialists and assists with the authorization process.
- Coordinates with patients in the scheduling of pre-procedure diagnostic tests and clearances, treatment plans and cycles.
- Creates patient itineraries and makes changes as requested.
- Responsible for clerical support, patient registration filing, data entry, preparation of patient charts and other clerical duties as assigned.
- Assists with the master schedule for procedures and coordinates case resource needs.
- Interacts directly with patients and works in a high call volume environment.
- Participates in the continuous quality improvement processes.
- Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, including the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventative maintenance.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education:
-
High School Graduate or equivalent required.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years' previous scheduling experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics and safety measures.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, plus Healthcare database systems required.
- Strong knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
- Proven ability to interface with all customer levels (Physicians, Staff, Vendors, Patients, Family members).
- Full understanding of medical insurance procedures required.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-
Basic keyboarding minimum 35 WPM preferred.
