Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant supports medical staff—including providers, nurses, and on-site Specialty Care Providers providing safe and efficient care at the clinic. Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant performs routine administrative and clinical duties such as scheduling appointments, greeting participants, maintaining medical records, taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and managing supplies. This role requires collaboration with the entire team to uphold the organization’s mission and values.

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist medical staff or assigned Specialty Care Providers with participant care.
- Prepare participants for appointments (e.g., exam room setup, check-in/out, history collection).
- Perform pre-exam tests and assist physicians during exams.
- Conduct general medical procedures (e.g., dressing changes, suture removal) under supervision.
- Collect and prepare lab specimens; sterilize equipment per guidelines.
- Triage unscheduled physician visit requests.
- Float MA: Review Specialist calendar daily, fill vacancies, and manage weekly schedules.
- Support Specialists during exams and document procedures in Athena.
- Maintain clinic logs, stock exam rooms, and ensure sanitation.
- Monitor Emergency Cart and medication/vaccine refrigerator logs.
- Manage sharps containers and perform quality control checks on lab equipment.
- Document procedures and provide participant education as directed.
- Conduct COVID testing for staff and non-staff as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting with elderly or frail populations.
- Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience in Clinical settings.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
