Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours/week (Fri-Sun)
Position Type: Temp-to-Perm (Client experience preferred)

Job Summary:

• The Radiologic Technologist demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology, adheres to UNC Healthcare System departmental protocols, and maintains active RT(R) credentials.
• This role involves assisting with troubleshooting equipment and protocol issues, sharing knowledge with colleagues and students, and ensuring high-quality patient care and image management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy of patient demographic information, emulsion markers, and requested examinations. Critique, orient, and save all relevant images, transmitting QA-approved images to PACS and documenting completion or cancellation of procedures in RIS.
• Maintain and report on image management equipment, utilizing PACS and HIS systems to access additional study data.
• Perform radiographic examinations in a timely and consistent manner, analyzing requests, correlating patient information, and ensuring examination appropriateness.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, document incidents, and advise supervisors on opportunities for improvement.
• Use RIS, CIS, PACS, and SMS systems effectively to document procedure status, complete exams, QC, and verify information transmission to PACS.
• Verify patient identity and pregnancy status before administering ionizing radiation, obtain relevant patient history, assess physical condition, and develop an appropriate action plan.
• Assist patients requiring extra attention, respond to emergencies, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.

Education:

• Accredited Associate’s Degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• ARRT Certification in Radiography (maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Siemens experience preferred.
