Phlebotomist Floater
Location: Enfield, CT , 06082
Duration: 4 Months
Shift: 7 am to 4 pm
Pay Rate: $22/hr on w2
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist III – Float serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care and high-quality blood collection services. This role involves performing venipuncture, capillary, and special collection procedures, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards. The Float Phlebotomist provides coverage across multiple locations and acts as a leader, trainer, and mentor to new staff while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and patient trust.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform high-quality blood draws and specimen collections (venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, and geriatric).

Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for transport and testing in accordance with established protocols.

Provide coverage across multiple patient service centers, physician offices, mobile sites, or long-term care facilities as needed.

Maintain a professional and compassionate environment that ensures patient comfort and confidence.

Serve as on-site lead, providing guidance and support to other phlebotomists and patient service representatives.

Train, coach, and mentor new employees, ensuring adherence to company standards and procedures.

Collaborate with other departments (Sales, Laboratory, IT, Billing, Logistics) to support complex client or testing needs.

Ensure daily operations are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Handle patient information with strict confidentiality and accuracy.

Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment while maintaining quality and timeliness.
Qualifications:
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
-
Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, and WA).
Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

At least 3 years in a PSC/IOP (Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy) environment preferred.

Experience in a customer service or healthcare service environment preferred.

Proficient in data entry and computer systems.
