Job Title: Senior Scientist - Bioassay Developmen
Location: San Francisco, CA
Contract: 3 Months+ (with Possibility of Extension)
 
Pay Range: $100 - $120/hr. on W2
 
Core Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Solve complex scientific challenges using advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Serve as an in-house consultant and occasional spokesperson for corporate R&D and technology initiatives.
  • Apply scientific expertise to develop innovative company concepts, principles, and solutions.
  • Design, plan, and execute experiments to address complex scientific problems.
  • Integrate multiple data sources to draw meaningful, non-obvious conclusions and insights.
  • Write, review, and approve detailed scientific reports, protocols, and documentation.
  • Contribute to patent applications and represent the company in external scientific forums when required.
  • Lead project planning and coordination, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support organizational processes including budget planning and resource identification.
  • Mentor and train junior staff or small project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, GMP, and FDA regulations.
 
Education & Experience:
  • PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related scientific discipline required.
  • Exceptional candidates without a PhD but with proven scientific achievements will be considered.
  • Strong background in bioassay development and related scientific contributions.
  • Experience working within FDA-regulated environments and familiarity with cGMP practices preferred.
  • Prior team leadership or management experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated success in bioassay development and scientific innovation.
  • Strong scientific creativity and the ability to think independently.
  • Expertise in applying scientific principles both internally and in external communications.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in experimental design and data analysis.
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to clearly convey complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to documentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of lab automation, GMP standards, and FDA compliance highly desirable.
