Phlebotomist II
Job Location: Saint Paul MN
Job Duration: 4-5 Months
Shift/Time Zone: 07:30AM-06:30PM (8 hours/day)
Position Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, representing the company to patients seeking routine or diagnostic laboratory services. This role requires excellence in phlebotomy, patient interaction, and specimen processing, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and compassion in every encounter. The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and a strong commitment to confidentiality, compliance, and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily specimen collection and processing activities accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established laboratory procedures.

Create a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, maintaining trust and confidence during each interaction.

Perform high-quality forensic and clinical blood draws, ensuring proper patient identification, specimen labeling, and documentation.

Verify patient demographic information and confirm patient signatures post-venipuncture to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and specimen logs as required by company policy and regulatory standards.

Promote a positive organizational image, demonstrating superior customer service and professionalism to patients, clients, and colleagues.

Adhere to all safety, infection-control, and quality assurance procedures to maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and company protocols.

Exhibit organizational commitment, dependability, and flexibility to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime shifts.

Communicate effectively with patients and coworkers, demonstrating empathy, clarity, and respect.

Support multiple work sites as needed, traveling between patient service centers, clinics, or physician offices to ensure consistent service coverage.
Job Requirements

Ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining team collaboration.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Flexible schedule to meet business and staffing needs (including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime).

Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Proficiency in data entry, EMR systems, and administrative documentation.

Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate professionally and transparently with patients, supervisors, and peers.

Adaptable and comfortable with change, demonstrating knowledge of company processes and goals.
Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent – Required
Experience

Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Additional Details
