Phlebotomist II
Location: St Louis MO
Duration: 3 months
Shift: 7:30am-4:00pm M-F
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the primary company representative interacting directly with patients during routine health visits or life-defining health decisions. The PSR II performs skilled blood draws and prepares specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures. The role requires building patient trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures and performing phlebotomy safely and accurately. The PSR II also demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in handling patient information. Assignments may vary between doctors’ offices, patient service centers, or other business locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily duties accurately and on schedule under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional working environment.

Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established protocols.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials and signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling of tubes in the patient’s presence.

Maintain thorough records and documentation of specimen collection and patient interactions.

Exhibit organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:

Deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Demonstrate excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric specimen collection.

Maintain flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.

Commit to all company policies, including dress code, employee health and safety, and guiding principles.

Exercise good judgment and make decisions based on established procedures.

Have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

Be willing to travel and work flexible hours covering multiple locations with minimal notice.

Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting efficiently.

Exhibit superior customer service skills with transparent communication to peers, supervisors, and patients.

Embrace change quickly and have a strong understanding of the business.
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
Work Experience:

Minimum of 3 years phlebotomy experience.
