Job Title: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
Location: Waco, TX
Length of Assignment: 3 Months+ (Possibility of Extension)
Schedule: 3x12's 7 am – 7 pm

Schedule: 3x12's 7 am – 7 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the surgical field, ensuring appropriate supplies, instruments, and equipment are available
- Set up and prepare the operating room according to procedure schedules
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures (e.g., retractors, suturing, cauterization, wound closure, and dressings)
- Position, prep, and drape patients as required
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure OR cleanliness pre- and post-procedure
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform quality checks
- Educate, mentor, and precept staff in scrub role practices
- Support the surgical team in patient care, supply requisitions, and vendor coordination
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 4 years in a surgical/OR environment
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant – NBSTSA)
- Education: Associate’s degree or higher in a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, surgical instruments, and OR protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
