Position Summary:
The Packaging Process Engineer supports Engineering and Operations in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical packaging environment. This hands-on, client-facing role focuses on troubleshooting, optimizing, and integrating packaging equipment across labeling, cartoning, serialization, and syringe assembly operations. The engineer will also lead technology transfers and support new product introductions.

Position Summary:
The Packaging Process Engineer supports Engineering and Operations in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical packaging environment. This hands-on, client-facing role focuses on troubleshooting, optimizing, and integrating packaging equipment across labeling, cartoning, serialization, and syringe assembly operations. The engineer will also lead technology transfers and support new product introductions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and optimize labeling, cartoning, serialization, and syringe assembly equipment.
- Lead line setups, changeovers, and carton/label artwork evaluations to improve throughput and reduce waste.
- Drive equipment performance improvements, OEE, and operational efficiency.
- Support capital equipment projects (specification, vendor selection, FAT/SAT, commissioning).
- Lead packaging-related technology transfers for new and existing products.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and clients to resolve packaging issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with GMP standards and maintain strong on-floor presence.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 3–10 years engineering experience in cGMP-controlled pharmaceutical or medical device packaging operations.
- Hands-on experience with automated packaging equipment (labelers, cartoners, serialization, syringe assembly).
- Strong troubleshooting, line integration, and material flow optimization skills.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, SMED, and structured problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional and client interactions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs., stand, bend, and perform on-floor activities as needed.
