ENTRY Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Entry-Level Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I)
Location: Plantation, FL
Duration: 4+ Months (Possible Extension)
Shift:
- Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Saturday: 6:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Job Overview
The Entry Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the welcoming face of our organization, supporting patients during routine lab visits or important health-related testing. This role focuses on compassionate patient care, front-of-house support, and professional lobby management.
This entry-level role offers training in phlebotomy, providing a pathway for growth within the organization. Candidates must be willing and eager to learn phlebotomy skills—this is not strictly a front desk/greeter role.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Front-of-House Support
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and respond to questions with care and professionalism.
- Assist patients with check-in procedures using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
- Create a positive and reassuring environment by explaining the procedures and setting expectations.
Operational & Clinical Support
- Maintain the cleanliness, order, and integrity of the lobby/waiting area.
- Provide support to phlebotomists during breaks or downtime.
- Be trained in phlebotomy and, once proficient, perform clinical and forensic specimen collection following strict safety and procedural standards.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and required records.

- Uphold a safe, professional work environment at all times.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment, professionalism, and a positive attitude toward patients, coworkers, and the public.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
Experience
-
1–2 years of client-facing customer service experience — REQUIRED
(Retail, hospitality, home health aide, or similar roles accepted) - Keyboard/data entry proficiency required
- No prior phlebotomy experience necessary — full training provided
Position Requirements
- Strong ability to provide compassionate, high-level customer service
- Willingness and commitment to learn phlebotomy skills
- Must have reliable personal transportation (rideshare/bus is not accepted)
- Must be within a 20–25 minute commute to the Plantation, FL site
- Punctuality and consistent attendance are mandatory; excessive tardiness or absenteeism may result in termination
- Must be available for all scheduled hours and remain for the full shift
