Job Title: HIM Coder IV (Inpatient)
Location: Broomfield, CO 80021
Duration: 3+ Months (Possible Extension)
Pay Rate: $40/hr. on W2
Schedule: Day Shift (8 Hours).
Hours: 40 Hours per Week.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HIM Coder IV to perform inpatient hospital coding at an advanced level. The coder will assign ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes, ensure accurate DRG assignment, and support compliance and revenue cycle processes.
This is a fully remote role, requiring strong attention to detail, coding accuracy, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on clinical documentation.
- Perform DRG validation and sequencing for inpatient cases.
- Review EMR documentation for coding accuracy and completeness.
- Query physicians for clarification when needed.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with revenue cycle teams to resolve coding issues.
- Utilize coding tools such as 3M encoder, EPIC, and CAC systems.
- Support data integrity and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong experience in Inpatient Hospital Coding (Acute Care).
- Proficiency in:
- ICD-10-CM.
- ICD-10-PCS.
- CPT / HCPCS.
- Experience with DRG assignment and validation.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, EMR systems).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with 3M Encoder / EPIC / CAC tools.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information / Healthcare field.
