Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location:  Brooklyn, NY 11212
Duration: 3 Months+ (with possible extension)

Schedule: 8:00 PM – 8:15 AM | Nights / Days | 3 nights per week & every other weekend

Travel pay - $2350+ weekly gross
Local pay - $68 / hr. on w2

Qualifications & Skills
Required:
  • Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
  • New York State Licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
 
Preferred:
•              Experience in acute, chronic, and critical care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations.
•              Strong clinical judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills.
•              Proficiency with EMR systems and ventilator management.
 
Job Summary:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is an essential member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality respiratory care with compassion and clinical excellence. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating respiratory treatments for patients across various acuity levels in a fast-paced hospital setting.
 
Responsibilities:
•              Assess patients and recommend appropriate respiratory therapy treatments based on physician orders.
•              Administer respiratory care procedures including aerosolized medications, sputum inductions, and ventilator/BiPAP management.
•              Monitor patients on mechanical ventilation and make necessary adjustments per established protocols.
•              Accurately document all treatments, responses, and progress in the EMR system.
•              Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function testing and sleep studies.
•              Inspect, test, clean, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment.
•              Respond to emergency calls (“CODE 99,” “Trauma,” and “RRT”) to manage airways and perform CPR as needed.
•              Educate patients and families on respiratory care equipment and self-care techniques.
•              Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
•              Maintain adequate supplies of equipment and medical gas tanks in assigned areas.
•              Participate in mandatory in-service education and unit-based training sessions.
 
Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and reach throughout extended shifts.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and lift items up to 25 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in various patient care environments.
