Phlebotomist I
Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Duration: 4 Months
Shift: 2 shifts available - 6 am - 12 pm OR 8 am - 2 pm Both with rotating Saturdays 7am-12pm
Job Summary:
- The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the front-line representative of the organization, providing exceptional patient care and accurate specimen collection services.
- This position involves performing blood draws, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and maintaining professional communication with patients to ensure a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture, capillary, and other specimen collection procedures accurately and efficiently.

Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing while following established protocols and safety procedures.

Create a professional, safe, and compassionate environment for patients.

Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient data in compliance with confidentiality standards.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote process excellence in daily operations.

Support and assist team members and supervisors as needed to meet departmental goals.

Follow all quality, compliance, and infection control policies.

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
Job Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).
-
Preferred Training: Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.

Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Experience:
-
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy or healthcare experience (required).
-
1+ year of phlebotomy experience (preferred).

Customer service or retail experience (preferred).

Keyboarding and data entry experience (required).

Skills:
-
Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.

Ability to perform high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Dependable, punctual, and professional at all times.
