Location: Fully Onsite at the Product Engineering Center in Waterloo, Iowa
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 am 3:30 pm), minimal overtime
We are seeking an organized, mechanically inclined candidate to support our facilitys test tractor fleet and related operational responsibilities. This fully onsite position involves hands-on work on the shop floor and occasional driving of tractors, company vehicles, and utility vehicles within a 30-mile radius of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide work direction to both on-site and off-site resources, ensuring the test tractor fleet is maintained and ready for use
Review work produced by support teams
Collaborate with project team members across departments
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with tractors
Ensure adherence to schedules, product specifications, and quality standards
Communicate directly with contract vendors on assigned projects
Participate in project meetings and provide status updates
Order, monitor, and store project-related materials
Requirements:
Must provide and wear metatarsal safety shoes from day one
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and spend approximately 50% of the workday on the shop floor
Technical or Engineering degree (Engineering degree highly preferred; open to entry-level candidates)
Mechanical background
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excelincluding functions/pivot tables)
Ability to learn: Client Service Advisor, CreoView, SAP transactions, and Top Down modeling structure
Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to influence others without formal authority, particularly in a union environment
Quick learner and self-starter
Must pass a Motor Vehicle Screen after offer acceptance
Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the future
Driving Responsibilities:
Drive tractors on test tracks and within property
Operate client-owned Gators inside the factory
Use company vehicles for travel to other client locations or local businesses (within 30 miles) for parts pick-up
Top Must-Have Qualities:
Ability to work and effectively influence individuals with diverse backgrounds
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of engineering principles
Adaptability and quick to learn new tools, processes, and technologies
Initiative-taking and self-motivated
