Job Title: Research Assistant II

Must have :
Job description:
Essential qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in molecular biology or neuroscience preferred, or related field.
• At least 1–3 years of hands-on laboratory experience (academic or industry (preferred)).
• Experience with cell culture of cell lines, primary neural cells and iPSC-derived neural cells.
• Experience in isolation of RNA and protein from cells and tissues (both manually and automated systems)
• Experience in qPCR, ELISA, MSD, Western Blot, Alpha LISA assays and analysis
• Experience with virus transduction in cell lines and iPSC-derived neuronal cells
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• A creative, problem-solving, collaborative, and goal-oriented mindset
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience working with animals is a plus
• Experience designing PCR and qPCR Primers
• Knowledge of SnapGene software, Genebank and BLAST platforms for DNA/RNA sequences analysis
• Experience with target validation is a plus
• Experience using Benchling (eLN)
Key Responsibilities:
• Support ongoing projects in the team by performing in vitro assays
• Perform plate-based assays to analyze samples downstream from in vivo studies
• Analyze, integrate and interpret data from multiple sources
• Diligently document work in digital systems and regularly communicate results in team and group settings
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and samples for analysis, including samples collected from in vivo studies (e.g. tissue homogenization and protein/RNA extraction).
• Assist in method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and good research practices
• Work collaboratively in a team environment and manage priorities to achieve our goals
Location: Cambridge, MA
Duration: 10 Months
Must have :
- qPCR, ELISA, Protein Analysis, Western Blot, previous work with cell lines, primary cells and IPSC derived cells; MSD, Alpha LISA assays and analysis
- Strong assay skills; Industry experience, large scale ELISA
- Previous experience working with mammals, mice (strong plus)
- SnapGene software, Genebank and BLAST platforms for DNA/RNA sequences analysis
- Benchling (eLN)
