Position Summary.
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company, interacting directly with patients for routine health needs and critical health decisions.
- This role is responsible for drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and confidentiality throughout the process.
- The PSR II fosters trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and performing venipuncture in a skillful, safe, and professional manner.
- Assignments may include work in a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations as business needs require.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Operations:
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.
- Follow established practices and procedures for specimen collection and processing.
- Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection confidently.
- Verify patient demographic information and initials.
- Obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm:
- Tubes were labeled in their presence.
- Patient name on the label is correct.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients to create comfort and trust.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Follow all company policies and procedures including:
- Dress code.
- Employee Health & Safety.
- Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to confidentiality and patient information accuracy.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors.
- Show organizational commitment.
- Communicate openly and transparently.
- Adapt to and embrace change.

- Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong independent work skills with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills (pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections).
- Strong decision-making and sound judgment based on established procedures.
- Superior customer service focus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Travel required to multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to cover Patient Service Center and In-Office Phlebotomy locations.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if applicable).
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).
- Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience.
