Job Title: CT Scan Technologist
Location: North Bergen, NJ 07047
Duration: 3 Months+ (Possibility of Exxtension)
Pay Range: $67 - $72 per hour. on W2
Shift/Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday
- 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM (10-hour shifts)
- Holidays and weekends as required
- No on-call requirement
Job Summary:
As a CT Scan Technologist, you will perform advanced CT imaging procedures, producing high-quality sectional and 3D images for diagnosis and therapeutic purposes. You will review patient histories and prescriptions, prepare and administer contrast media, and communicate with Radiologists and physicians to ensure precision and safety throughout the imaging process. Patient education and care are key components, as is adherence to safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex CT scans, including 3D imaging techniques.
- Review patient history, prescriptions, and insurance authorizations to verify exam requirements.
- Prepare, screen, and administer contrast media as prescribed.
- Communicate effectively with Radiologists and Referring Physicians to clarify orders.
- Obtain and process outside imaging studies for comparative analysis.
- Evaluate radiographic images in PACS to ensure diagnostic quality.
- Educate and support patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Perform venipuncture and IV insertions following guidelines.
- Monitor patients closely for adverse reactions during imaging.
- Follow departmental and organizational safety and operational policies.
- Physically able to lift 25 lbs, push/pull 50 lbs, and stand for 6+ hours daily.
- Deliver patient care customized to age, cultural background, and physical impairments.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and radiologic positioning.
- Strong understanding of CT imaging software and hardware mechanics.
- Proficient with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
- Maintain current CEU (Continuing Education Unit) credits.
- ARRT (CT) certification required within 12 months of hire.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Minimum six months CT experience.
- Experience with Epic and other HIS/RIS systems.
Education & Licensure:
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License (required).
- ARRT Certified R.T. (R) license (required).
- ARRT (CT) license (preferred).
- BLS (AHA) certification (required).
