Phlebotomist III - Floater
Job Location: Kansas City MO
Duration: 3 months of Contract with (temp-to-hire)
Shift: Mon-Fri, availability from 630AM-8PM, 8 hr shifts
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative III – Floater (PSR III) represents the face of the company to patients, whether they visit as part of their routine health care or for life-defining health decisions. The PSR III is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and confidentiality throughout the process.
The PSR III demonstrates leadership behaviors, a commitment to process excellence, and maintains a professional and trusting atmosphere for patients. Assignments may include working in a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations as business needs dictate.
Primary Responsibilities:

Perform daily activities accurately, efficiently, and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties according to established procedures.

Verify patient demographics and obtain patient initials/signatures post-venipuncture to confirm labeling accuracy.

Maintain all required records and documentation accurately.

Promote a positive image to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures.
Job Requirements:

Deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.

Comply with all company policies and procedures, including dress code and safety standards.

Exercise sound judgment and decision-making based on established procedures.

Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

Willingness to travel and work flexible hours to cover multiple locations, sometimes on short notice.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Demonstrate superior customer focus, open communication, and adaptability to change.

Strong understanding of business operations and service excellence.
Education & Training:
-
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Preferred: Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic).

Phlebotomy certification: Preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Work Experience:
-
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
