Job Title: Cardiovasular Tech
Job Specific Information: Scrub and monitor Cath Lab procedures.
Location/locations: no floating
Shift Time: 10 hour shifts. Variable start times. Start time 0630, 0700 and 0730
Hours: 36hrs
Shift length: 10 hours
Weekend rotation: yes with call
On Call: Call is ~13 shifts in a six week schedule that does include 2 weekends. 30 minute response time, 2 hour call back minimum.
Required certifications: (R) - ARRT, (RCES), (RCIS), ACLS, BLS

Job Description:
Job Summary: Assess hemodynamics/cardiac calculations operate equipment, document procedures, site management, patient/family education, patient preparation, sterile technique, processing and saving images, electrical mapping, responsibility for preparation of the access site, intraprocedural handling of instruments, maintenance of sterile field, evaluation of changing conditions during procedures. Responsible for maintaining basic knowledge of congenital, vascular, structural, cardiac, and electrophysiological procedures. Device pocket closure. Responsible for taking call to cover urgent/emergent procedures. Participates in ongoing process improvement activities, department level education, and adheres to unit based standard work.
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent - Cardiovascular Technologist Program, Radiology Technologist Program or Bachelor's in Health Science
Experience: 2 years of relevant experience Clinical experience in electrophysiology or invasive cardiology procedures
Licenses/Certifications:
CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist

Essential Functions:
Prepares case tables with necessary equipment, sterile supplies, instruments, labels, and medications/solutions for each procedure and performs surgical sponge, needle, and instruments counts.
Creates and maintains a sterile and safe environment and provides sterile instruments and supplies to assist in procedures.
Communicates and collaborates with patients and other members of the health care team to ensure continuity and coordination of services
Monitor patients undergoing invasive and interventional procedures, capturing and recording hemodynamic/physiologic wave forms and performing calculations.
Depending on specialty, must be able to utilize IVUS, FFR, OCT, ICE, Shockwave, IABP, Impella, Atherectomy (laser and rotational), 3D mapping and provide support for cardiac, ablation, peripheral, laser lead extractions, structural heart interventions, pediatric congenital interventions, and implantable device procedures, including pocket closures.
Circulates procedures as second circulator, gathering equipment for the procedure, obtaining and resulting ACT and oximetry.
Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.
