Radiology Technologist
Job Summary:
Operates radiology equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body. Positions and adjusts equipment for optimal exposure and image quality while ensuring patient safety and comfort in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:

Retrieve radiologic orders and input data into the electronic medical record.

Prepare and position patients for radiologic procedures, explaining processes to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.

Operate radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment according to established protocols and physician requests.

Obtain high-quality diagnostic images using CR/DR techniques.

Apply radiation protection measures for patients and staff, including beam restriction and patient shielding.

Assist with portable and specialized imaging procedures across various departments and facilities (ER, surgery, outpatient, etc.).

Maintain and troubleshoot radiology equipment; report malfunctions promptly.

Stock and maintain exam rooms and supplies as per departmental standards.

Follow infection control and drug safety protocols; respond appropriately to emergencies.

Support departmental and hospital goals through participation in education, quality improvement, and professional development activities.

Ensure patient informed consent and compliance with Universal Protocol for invasive procedures.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
Decision-Making & Interactions:

Exercise independent judgment in planning and performing imaging procedures.

Interact directly with patients, families, and healthcare professionals both in person and via telephone.
Required Skills & Experience:

0 6 months of related experience.

Working knowledge of digital and computerized radiography systems (DR/CR).

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Strong teamwork, adaptability, and professionalism.

Basic computer proficiency.

Ability to perform tasks accurately and wear lead aprons for extended periods.
Required Education:
-
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
Required Certification & Licensure:
-
ARRT (R) Registered Radiologic Technologist certification.
-
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
