Surgical Reprocessing Technician
Shift
- 2:00 PM 10:30 PM
Job Summary
Under general supervision, responsible for cleaning, inspecting, assembling, packaging, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment. Supports inpatient, outpatient, operating room, emergency room, delivery room, and satellite departments.
Monitors and documents sterilization processes (steam, ETO, Sterrad, and high-level disinfectants) and ensures compliance with standards. Prepares and manages case carts based on surgical needs and surgeon preference cards. Maintains inventory, stocks supplies, and ensures availability of instruments and equipment for procedures.
Education
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Medical terminology course
Certification & Licensure
- Required: Central Service Certification
- Preferred: BLS
Skills & Experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
- Customer service skills
