ENTRY Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Entry-Level Phlebotomist I
Location: Miami, FL
Duration: 5+ Months (Potential for Extension)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Position Summary:
The Entry-Level Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the welcoming face of the organization, providing compassionate and professional support to patients during their visits. This role is ideal for individuals with strong customer service skills who are eager to learn and grow into phlebotomy responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients upon arrival and assist with check-in using self-service kiosks or handheld tablets.
- Address patient questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized waiting area.
- Support other phlebotomists during breaks or downtime.
- Learn and develop phlebotomy skills under supervision.
- Once trained, perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.
- Ensure accurate documentation and uphold patient confidentiality.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- 1–2 years of client-facing customer service experience (e.g., retail, home health aide) (Required)
- Prior phlebotomy experience not required
- Keyboard/data entry experience required
Skills & Attributes:
- High level of customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow into phlebotomy responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Reliable transportation (rideshare/bus not accepted).
- Punctuality and full-shift availability are essential.
Additional Information:
- Candidates must reside within a 20–25 minute commute of the Miami worksite.
- Must list home city and commute time on resume.
- Rate is based on years of direct experience (overlapping roles do not count twice).
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
