Phlebotomist II

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, representing the organization with professionalism and care. This role involves collecting blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and patient comfort throughout the process. The PSR II builds trust with patients by clearly explaining procedures and delivering high-quality service.

• Perform daily activities accurately and within established timelines under the direction of a supervisor
• Collect blood specimens (venipuncture and capillary) following standard procedures
• Ensure proper patient identification and verify demographic information
• Obtain patient acknowledgment/signature to confirm correct specimen labeling
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Provide excellent customer service and create a positive patient experience
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
• Support both clinical and forensic specimen collection as needed
• Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred)
• Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in certain states)

• 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric and geriatric patients)
• Experience with capillary collections
• 2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred)
• Customer service experience in retail or service industry (preferred)
• Basic computer and data entry skills
