Business Systems Analyst III
Job Description – Business Systems Analyst (Senior)
Location : Remote : (BCBST Location)
Responsibilities
-
Consult with management to address business needs, ensuring linkage across business units, development, operations, and technical teams.

Recommend solutions to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service.

Research software/hardware products to support budgeting and purchasing decisions.

Define and implement complex, cross-functional, multi-platform solutions.

Lead requirements analysis and ensure specifications are complete, traceable, feasible, and verifiable.

Manage changing requirements, assess impacts, and communicate risks/issues to project teams.

Collaborate with technical and QA teams to ensure business needs are met.
-
Anticipate customer needs, build strong business relationships, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Apply knowledge of application development methodologies to business interactions.
-
May serve as project lead, business systems analyst lead, or technical lead for small/medium efforts, and manage phases of larger efforts.

Guide, instruct, and validate the work of other analysts; support multiple concurrent projects.
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience (1 year technical = 1 year college).

Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
-
7+ years in IT and systems analysis.

Proven experience leading requirements development efforts.
-
Health insurance industry experience preferred.
-
Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms.
Skills & Certifications
-
CCBA™ or CBAP® preferred.
-
Strong leadership, organization, and prioritization skills.

Advanced understanding of integrated/interdependent systems.
-
Excellent written/oral communication across technical & non-technical forums.
-
Strong negotiation, facilitation, and presentation skills.
