Quality and Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Quality and Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Location: Richmond, VA- Onsite
Duration: 5 Months+
Pay $40-$48/hr on w2
Shift: 1st Shift: 8AM TO 5PM
Role Purpose:
Oversee and deploy risk-based Food Safety and Quality programs across internal/external manufacturing sites, suppliers, and licensed partners. Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and Mondelez policies.
Key Responsibilities

Support Business Units in applying and updating Global Quality Policies.

Implement Food Safety programs to ensure all products meet regulatory and company standards.

Maintain an always audit-ready facility for internal and external audits.

Use risk assessment for product, process, and packaging safety decisions.

Conduct risk-based verification for suppliers, manufacturing sites, and warehouses.

Lead operational Food Safety issue management, including risk-based disposition decisions and regulatory interactions.

Communicate and influence cross-functional partners to strengthen Food Safety alignment with company values.

Promote and advance a strong Food Safety culture.

Supervise one direct report.

Serve as backup for the facility’s Lead Food Quality & Safety role.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred.

Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in Quality Assurance or Food Safety.

Proven experience delivering risk-based Food Safety programs, ideally within FMCG.

Strong ability to influence strategy and collaborate across functions and sites.

Continuous improvement mindset with Lean/Six Sigma experience (preferred).

HACCP and PCQI certifications or ability to obtain quickly.
