Job Title: Phlebotomist III - Floater
Job Location: Wauwatosa WI
Job Duration: 3 Months (Possibilities of Extension)
Shift: Hours vary from 430am until 7pm

 

Position Summary

The Patient Services Representative III – Floater (PSR III) represents the face of the company to patients, whether they are visiting as part of a routine health check or for important diagnostic testing. The PSR III is responsible for skillfully and safely drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring accuracy and confidentiality throughout the process.

This role requires professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail while creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients. The PSR III demonstrates leadership behaviors, focuses on process excellence, and may be assigned to a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations as business needs dictate.




Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities accurately, efficiently, and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

  • Provide both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.

  • Verify patient identification, demographics, and labeling — ensuring tubes are labeled in the patient’s presence and confirmed by signature or initials.

  • Maintain required records, logs, and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

  • Uphold a safe, clean, and professional work environment at all times.

  • Demonstrate superior customer service by creating a positive experience for patients, clients, and colleagues.

  • Travel to and work at multiple locations as needed (Patient Service Centers or In-Office Phlebotomy sites) with minimal notice.

  • Exhibit professionalism and adherence to all company policies, including dress code, health and safety, and confidentiality.

  • Support the company’s Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles through consistent quality, accuracy, and accountability.




Requirements



Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).



Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

  • Keyboarding and data entry experience required.



Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills across all age groups.

  • Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and team members.

  • Demonstrated customer focus, adaptability to change, and problem-solving ability.



Other Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.

  • Must be flexible and available based on staffing needs — including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.

  • Willing to travel throughout the Wisconsin area, including Green Bay.

  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.




Work Schedule

  • Flexible hours: 4:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (varies based on assignment and business needs).
