Phlebotomist Floater
Location: Burke VA
Duration: 3 Months (Possibilities of Extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday: 7a – 3:30p
Licenses/ Certification :Phlebotomy Certification or Medical Assistant Certification with Phlebotomy training
Overview:
The Phlebotomist III – Float serves as the face of the company to patients, performing skilled blood draws and specimen preparation while fostering trust and confidence. This role provides coverage across multiple locations and may involve leading, mentoring, and coaching staff. The Phlebotomist III – Float ensures accuracy, confidentiality, and high-quality patient service in all settings, including Patient Service Centers, mobile environments, long-term care, and in-office phlebotomy.
Key Responsibilities:

Draw high-quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.

Explain procedures to patients and perform phlebotomy safely, skillfully, and accurately.

Provide coverage across multiple locations, performing duties as business needs dictate.

Act as a coach, mentor, and resource for new employees; provide onboarding and training.

Serve as point of contact for staff on-site, providing input to group leads or supervisors.

Manage daily activities in PSC, Mobile, Long Term Care, or In-Office Phlebotomy.

Work with high-complexity or high-volume practices requiring specialized phlebotomy skills.

Collaborate with multiple functions, including Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics.

Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Required Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
Required Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Minimum of 3 years in a PSC/In-Office Phlebotomy environment preferred.

Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.

Keyboard and data entry experience.
