Specimen Technician

Location: Lewisville, TX
Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM CST
Duration: 2+ months

Job Description:
The SPT I supports daily operations in the Specimen Processing Department. This role involves general lab support tasks such as A-station work, presort, specimen pickup/delivery, imaging, centrifugation, and aliquoting. Strong data entry skills are required (6,000+ keystrokes/hr). Accuracy, organization, and the ability to learn specimen types and changing compliance rules are essential.

This is a fast-paced, production-focused environment with strict quality and time standards. Flexibility is important—night shift is primary, but weekends, holidays, OT, and on-call may be required. Role involves working in a biohazard setting, following safety procedures, and maintaining a clean workspace. Must communicate well and adapt quickly to daily changes.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Basic computer skills

• Previous laboratory experience required

• Medical/lab terminology preferred

• Prior production environment experience a plus
