Job Description: Shipping / Receiving Clerk
Job Location: Linden, NJ
Job Duration: 3-4+ Months – Temp to hire.
Shift: M-F 08:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
 
Pay Rate: $18.50/hr. on W2
 
Job Description:
  • The Shipping / Receiving Clerk is responsible for performing tasks associated with receiving, picking, packing, and shipping operations within the regional client supply fulfillment center.
  • Responsibilities may include receiving, pallet and box breakdown (using cutting tools), material put-away into storage or flow racks, box building, initiating orders, pre-packaging and counting, material transfers, physical inventory, item picking and placement, packing with air pillows and tape guns, labeling, pallet preparation, loading trucks, and order confirmation.
  • Additional duties may include offline order fulfillment, labeling, safe operation of material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack), lifting/moving materials, and general warehouse cleanup.
 
Responsibilities:
Unload Truck / Warehouse Operations
  • Receive, inspect, verify, process, and route materials into the facility and enter receipts into the Materials Management software system.
  • Notify the Warehouse Supervisor of any material discrepancies compared to shipping documentation.
  • Prepare shipments and documentation for outbound orders.
  • Manage the Returned Goods process according to the Returned Goods SOP.
  • Deliver stock to designated staging areas for departments.
  • Store warehoused items in designated locations and rotate stock by receipt and expiration dates.
  • Identify short-dated materials (less than 30 days of shelf life) and report findings to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Assist with cycle counts and full physical inventory activities.
  • Comply with all Materials and Services Management, Human Resources, Employee Health and Safety, Compliance, OSHA, CLIA, and related policies and procedures.
  • Analyze existing procedures and recommend process improvements to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Assist with picking, packing, and delivering internal and external orders as needed.
  • Support pre-packing by breaking down bulk packaging into smaller units.
  • Assist with record storage and retrieval as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, electric walkie stacker preferred).
  • Forklift and pallet jack certification is a plus.
 
Experience:
1 year of relevant work experience preferred.
 
Working Conditions:
  • Temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 30 lbs.
  • Required to follow proper lifting and moving procedures.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Safety Shoes Required.
