Job Title: Injection Molding Technician
Location: Corning, NY
Duration: 12 Months Contract (possibility of extension)
Schedule: 32 hours/week | 4 days/week | Approx. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $27.00/Hour (W2)
Position Overview:
- We are seeking a hands-on Injection Molding Technician to support experimental and production molding activities.
- This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with practical injection molding experience who products troubleshooting, process optimization, and working in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, configure, and operate injection molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment in alignment with experimental and production plans.
- Monitor molding processes during experimental and production runs to ensure quality, consistency, and optimal machine performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve molding defects, process deviations, and equipment malfunctions.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment to minimize downtime.
- Accurately document machine parameters, experimental data, process adjustments, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all safety standards and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on injection molding experience (2–5 years preferred).
- Proven experience operating injection molding machines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to observe, analyze, and adjust processes in real time.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Injection molding machine setup and troubleshooting experience.
- Mold assembly and disassembly experience.
- Experience with injection molded optics.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Experience with technical documentation and report writing.
Education:
- High school diploma required.
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Plastics Technology, or a related field preferred.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to lift equipment and stand for extended periods as required in a manufacturing environment.
