Phlebotomist II
Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: San Antonio, TX
Duration: 5+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift Timings:
- Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist II (Patient Services Representative II) serves as the face of the organization, interacting directly with patients for routine health screenings and critical diagnostic procedures. This role involves collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in patient care and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under supervisor direction.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.
- Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens per established protocols.
- Verify patient identity and ensure accurate labeling of specimens.
- Maintain documentation and records as required.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and the public.
- Travel to multiple locations as needed with minimal notice.
Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred; Required in CA, NV, WA)
Experience:
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (Required)
- 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred)
- Customer service experience in retail or service settings (Highly Preferred)
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent phlebotomy skills across all age groups
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Superior customer service and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
- Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
