Job Title: Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Tulsa, TX 74136
Duration: 12 + Months (Direct Hire)
 
Schedule & Compensation:


  • Shift/Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (after-hours on-call/rotation)
Position Type:
  • Incentives: Relocation assistance if eligible
  • Additional Notes: Must have 3 years related experience (day-to-day support of Network LAN Firewall).
 
Job Summary:
  • The Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer leads the planning and implementation of network projects.
  • Determines requirements, performs pre-project planning, implements projects, and provides operational technical support to meet expected functionality of new or existing network hardware or software systems.
  • Provides technical support for network-related incidents, proactively monitors system health, and ensures all configurations comply with hospital security policies, HIPAA regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develops and maintains accurate network documentation and leads projects requiring cross-functional collaboration.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Establishes network goals and objectives consistent with Saint Francis Health System (SFHS) information systems’ project planning and objectives.
  • Provides operational technical support to computer services, application programming, user departments, and outside clients as required.
  • Provides technical planning for users, information services, and network services departments.
  • Performs business hours and after-hours on-call responsibilities as required.
  • Conducts site visits and support work across hospital campuses and remote clinic locations as needed.
  • Plans, designs, configures, and implements network software/hardware with minimal impact on overall network availability and performance.
  • Designs and ensures functional, operational, and administrative requirements and specifications for networks are met per institutional and departmental policies.
  • Plans, implements, and maintains network software systems at optimum vendor-specified levels and enhances them for use at SFHS.
  • Develops and maintains complete standards and documentation for networking hardware, software architecture, and configurations.
  • Makes independent judgments in non-routine problems under general supervision.
 
Working Relationships:
  • Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise).
  • Leads others performing similar work (does not supervise).
  • Works directly with patients and/or customers.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction.
  • Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
  • Frequently interacts with individuals at Director level or above.
 
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience.
  • Solid knowledge and in-depth understanding of Windows workstation support, TCP/IP transport, routing protocols, physical network design and troubleshooting, network diagnostic tools, and Microsoft networking protocols.
  • High-level knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including networking (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs) and server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, Unix).
  • Some knowledge of modern data center architectures including EVPN, VXLAN, and spine-leaf designs.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise security integration, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, NAC, and zero-trust frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and performance management tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, Wireshark, Microsoft System Center) with the ability to design proactive monitoring and alerting strategies.
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Python, Ansible) to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and system scaling.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership skills to mentor engineers, present infrastructure strategies, and collaborate with executives, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Skills in capacity planning, HA, DR, and business continuity design.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform under stress in emergency situations.
  • Strong ability to perform detailed network research and troubleshoot multi-vendor, complex enterprise environments.
  • Ability to lead large-scale infrastructure projects, balancing performance, cost, and security considerations.
 
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Three (3) years of large network infrastructure (>1000 nodes) support experience.
 
Education Requirements:
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
 
Certifications & Licensure:
  • Required:
    • Off-campus system support duties require use of a private vehicle.
    • Valid driver’s license, Motor Vehicle Report, and proof of vehicle liability insurance as per Client's guidelines.
  • Preferred:
    • Aruba Certified Associate – Mobility (ACA – Mobility)
    • Aruba Certified Professional – Mobility (ACP – Mobility)
    • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate – JNCIA
    • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist – JNCIS
    • Fortinet Certified Fundamentals (FCF) OR Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA)
