Job Summary
The Access Coordinator plays a key role in enhancing patient satisfaction by delivering exceptional customer service to patients, families, caregivers, providers, and the community during every interaction. This role is responsible for coordinating and scheduling outpatient appointments and procedures for up to three less complex divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of patient access and care coordination activities
- Accurately schedule appointments and complete pre-registration to ensure first-contact resolution
- Optimize patient flow through efficient scheduling practices
- Collaborate with physician offices and clinical departments to coordinate services
- Prepare patients for upcoming visits and procedures
- Maintain and support administrative and operational processes
Education Requirements
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree
Certifications & Licensure
- None required

Language Requirements
- English (Speak, Read, Write)
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong customer service experience
- Excellent verbal communication skills (clear voice, diction, and articulation)
- Professional interpersonal skills with a courteous approach
- Ability to think independently and problem-solve effectively
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Advanced scheduling and patient registration experience
- Medical insurance knowledge and experience
- Call center experience
- Familiarity with insurance and managed care terminology
- Understanding of hospital operations and departmental relationships
Technical Skills
Required:
- Experience with patient registration in EPIC
- Appointment scheduling experience
- Knowledge of insurance processes
- Hospital or healthcare background
Preferred:
- Prior client experience
- Familiarity with EPIC systems
Training Provided:
- fetalForce software
Work Schedule
- Preferred: 10-hour shifts (4 days per week) with flexible days
- Alternative: MondayFriday, 8-hour shifts
