X-Ray Technician

Job Title: X-Ray Technologist
Location: Long Island City, NY
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift & Schedule:
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM & 4:00 PM – 11:30 PM Monday to Friday
Hours per Week:
37.5, Hours per Day: 7.5
Pay Rate: $62/hour negotiable (**Per-diem rates are also applicable for qualified candidates)

Role Overview:
The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for operating radiologic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body. This role ensures patient safety, maintains equipment, and supports a clean and compliant working environment. Technologists must uphold professional standards while working collaboratively within the radiology department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and establish rapport with patients; explain procedures to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures through proper positioning and equipment adjustments.
  • Operate radiologic equipment safely and effectively to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Apply radiation safety measures (e.g., shielding, beam restriction) to protect patients and staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document imaging procedures.
  • Ensure equipment functionality by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating repairs.
  • Monitor and maintain radiology supply inventory.
  • Follow infection control and safety policies to ensure a clean and secure environment.
  • Continuously maintain professional knowledge through CME credits, workshops, and professional activities.
  • Support departmental goals and complete age-specific competency requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Licensure & Certification:
    • New York State License (L.R.T)
    • ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Experience: No prior experience required.
