Position Overview
The Patient Services Representative (PSR) serves as the face of the company for patients seeking routine care or critical, life-defining health services. The PSR is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, professional, and compassionate patient experience.
The PSR interacts directly with patients, fostering trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures and performing blood draws accurately, safely, and skillfully. This role requires a strong commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and process excellence while demonstrating leadership behaviors and organizational values.
Assignments may include work in a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations as business needs require.
Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and specimen collection (forensic and clinical) following established practices and procedures

Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing

Verify patient demographics and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling

Maintain accurate records and required documentation

Perform daily duties accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and promote process excellence

Protect patient confidentiality and ensure data accuracy

Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public
Required Qualifications
-
Minimum of 2–3 years of phlebotomy experience
-
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients
-
Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
-
Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
-
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
-
Demonstrated superior customer service and communication skills
-
Ability to make decisions using established procedures and sound judgment
Schedule & Flexibility Requirements
-
Flexible availability required, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
-
Must be willing to work at multiple locations with minimal notice
-
Must be available for training at varying locations based on trainer availability
-
Must be able to stay for the entire scheduled shift and arrive on time
-
Excessive absenteeism or tardiness is not tolerated and may result in termination
Transportation Requirements

Must have reliable transportation to and from work

Public transportation, Uber, or rideshare does not qualify as reliable transportation

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required if applicable
