Location: Remote, AZ
Duration: 07 Months+ (Possible of extension)
 
Schedule: Mon - Fri 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (any time zone - hours are flexible)

Job Description:

3. Speed (ideally 1-day turnaround per transcript)

Position Overview:
  • Client is seeking a mid-level Transcription Coordinator to support critical knowledge capture efforts within our R&D organization.
  • This role will be instrumental in centralizing and managing interview recordings and transcripts for our Knowledge Book and criticality mapping initiatives.
  • The ideal candidate will have a scientific background and strong transcription experience, enabling them to accurately edit and align technical interview content for documentation and archival purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate and manage Microsoft Teams sessions using the Record & Transcribe feature.
  • Collect, organize, and securely store MP4 video files and machine-generated transcripts.
  • Edit AI-generated transcripts to ensure:
  • Accurate technical vocabulary
  • Removal of filler words and misheard phrases
  • Proper speaker attribution
  • Sentence-level alignment with MP4 timestamps
  • Ensure documents referenced during interviews are clearly associated with transcript content.
  • Maintain strict version control and access protocols for all files.
  • Coordinate closely with project stakeholders for interview scheduling and file retrieval.
  • Handle basic audio/video file management tasks.
  • Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards throughout all transcription activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in transcription or interview coordination, preferably in technical or R&D environments.
  • Strong command of English, including familiarity with scientific and technical terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams recording and transcription workflows.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in editing.
  • Experience with timestamping and speaker attribution in transcripts.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Background in science or technical fields is strongly preferred.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with transcription editing tools and formats (e.g., Word, SRT, Excel).
  • Experience working with AI-generated transcription outputs.
  • Strong organizational and file management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote setting.
