Job Location: Rockford, IL
Duration: 3 months of Contract with (Temp-to-hire)
Shift: Mon - Fri 6:00 am-2:30 pm, Every other Sat 8:00 am-2:00 pm.
Pay rate: $25/hr on W2
Job Title: Patient Services Representative II (PSR II)
Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, providing high-quality patient care and support. This role is responsible for collecting and processing blood and other specimens for laboratory testing while ensuring patient safety, confidentiality, and accuracy. The PSR II creates a professional and welcoming environment, explains procedures clearly, and performs venipuncture skillfully and confidently for patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily duties accurately, efficiently, and on time under the direction of an area supervisor

Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures

Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, and geriatric collections safely and accurately

Verify patient identity and demographic information; obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling

Label specimens in the patient’s presence and ensure accuracy

Maintain required records, documentation, and confidentiality

Promote a safe, professional, and patient-focused environment

Demonstrate leadership behaviors, organizational commitment, and customer service excellence

Represent the company positively to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public
Job Requirements

Ability to produce high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to make sound decisions based on established procedures

Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts

Willingness to travel between multiple locations with minimal notice

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (required for float positions)

Commitment to company policies, dress code, safety standards, and guiding principles

Keyboarding and data entry proficiency
Education & Certification
-
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
-
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (preferred)
-
Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA)
Experience
-
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections)
-
2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred
-
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment strongly preferred
