Position Summary:
- We are seeking a highly motivated Sr Associate Scientist to support purification process development activities for biologics during pivotal and commercial development phases.
- This role is laboratory focused and supports bench scale downstream purification development and process characterization studies.
- The ideal candidate has strong hands-on laboratory skills, experience with purification process execution, and the ability to troubleshoot and refine experimental methods in a fast-paced development environment.
- Purification Process Development
- Execute purification process development and characterization experiments in support of pivotal and commercial programs
- Perform bench scale purification studies including chromatography, filtration, and UF/DF as appropriate
- Support resin and membrane lifetime studies, robustness assessments, and process characterization activities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data in compliance with data integrity expectations.
- Author experimental protocols, reports, and maintain high quality electronic laboratory notebook documentation
- Technical Excellence & Collaboration
- Support implementation of new purification technologies, instrumentation, and platform enhancements.
- Troubleshoot equipment, materials, and experimental methods to improve robustness and reproducibility
- Maintain a stateoftheart purification lab, including instrumentation readiness and workflow improvements.
- Partner with upstream, downstream, and crossfunctional colleagues as needed on development and characterization initiatives.
- Adhere to all training, safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
- M.S. with 4+ years or B.S. with 6+ years of relevant industry experience in chemical engineering, biochemistry, bioengineering, or related discipline.
- Hands on experience with downstream purification techniques including chromatography and filtration.
- Experience with tangential flow filtration, AKTA systems, and UNICORN software is preferred.
- Strong experimental execution, data analysis, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in collaborative, fastpaced environments.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
