Position Overview
The Patient Services Representative (PSR) serves as the face of our company for patients visiting for routine healthcare or important diagnostic needs. The PSR is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while strictly following established procedures.
This role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to create a trusting environment, and skillful, safe, and accurate venipuncture. PSRs must demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in handling patient information.
PSRs may be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center, or other locations depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily activities accurately, efficiently, and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature after venipuncture to ensure tubes were labeled correctly in the patient’s presence.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, colleagues, and the public.
Job Requirements

2–3 years of experience required.

Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric draws.

Flexibility to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.

Commitment to all company policies and procedures (dress code, Employee Health & Safety, Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles).

Ability to make sound decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.

Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

Ability to work flexible hours and cover multiple locations, sometimes with minimal notice.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Demonstrated superior customer focus, open and transparent communication, adaptability to change, and understanding of organizational operations.

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Additional Job Details

Candidate must have reliable transportation to/from the worksite.
Public transit, Uber, Lyft, and other rideshare options are NOT considered reliable. -
Must be available to work all scheduled shifts, arrive on time, and stay for the full shift.

Excessive absenteeism or tardiness is not tolerated and may result in termination.
