Shift Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours Per Week: 37.5 | Hours Per Day: 7.5 | Days Per Week: 5
Hourly rate: $21/hour on W2 (Negotiable)
Role Overview:
The Medical Office Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support to physicians and surgeons, playing a key role in delivering high-quality patient care. This includes direct patient care, assisting with procedures, and managing essential clerical tasks.

Role Overview:
The Medical Office Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support to physicians and surgeons, playing a key role in delivering high-quality patient care. This includes direct patient care, assisting with procedures, and managing essential clerical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support:
- Assist with patient care activities: vital signs, EKGs, venipuncture, specimen collection, point-of-care testing.
- Escort and prepare patients for exams or procedures.
- Support physicians during procedures and relay instructions to patients/families.
- Set up and maintain exam rooms and medical instruments per infection control standards.
- Monitor and log temperature-sensitive items, medications, and crash cart supplies.
- Check and dispose of expired medications and supplies in compliance with policy.
- Manage medical records: sending/receiving documentation, filing, and organizing charts.
- Use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to enter orders, manage prescriptions, and update patient data.
- Schedule appointments, surgeries, and verify procedure times with patients.
- Perform patient registration and update demographic/insurance information.
- Verify insurance coverage and pre-certify procedures as required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Medical Assistant; phlebotomy experience preferred
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant from an accredited school
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with EMR systems
- Communication: Ability to interact effectively with a diverse patient population
- Other: Must follow safety protocols, legal regulations, and PPE guidelines
