Radiology Technologist
Job Title: Radiology Technologist
Location: Tulsa, OK
Shift: 12-hour shifts, rotating both days and nights
Duration: 13 weeks (temporary assignment)
Pay: $60 - $65 per hour
Job Summary:
Operates radiology equipment to produce diagnostic radiographic images. Positions equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance according to exam specifications. Performs x-rays following established protocols to ensure patient safety and quality care.
Key Responsibilities:

Retrieve radiologic orders and input data into electronic medical records.

Prepare and escort patients to procedure rooms, providing instructions and assistance for proper positioning.

Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and Product cooperation.

Position patients and equipment to obtain optimum diagnostic images as ordered by physicians.

Operate specialized radiologic equipment under limited physician supervision, including portable x-ray units and fluoroscopy.

Provide patient care across diverse settings: ER, surgery, ambulatory surgery center, pediatric hospital, outpatient centers, and clinics.

Adjust equipment controls for appropriate exposure using CR/DR techniques while practicing radiation protection measures.

Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues, reporting malfunctions as needed.

Maintain examination rooms, stock supplies, and adhere to infection control and safety protocols.

Administer first aid and follow drug protocols during adverse reactions.

Support departmental goals through continuous education and process improvement initiatives.

Maintain professional standards aligned with ARRT and ASRT guidelines.

Assist with patient monitoring during moderate sedation and ensure informed consent and procedural protocols are followed.

Exercise independent judgment in planning procedures and decision-making.

Collaborate with patients, healthcare providers, and staff for seamless care delivery.
Required Skills & Experience:

0 to 6 months related experience preferred.

Working knowledge of digital (DR) and computerized radiography (CR) equipment, techniques, and protocols.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Ethical and professional conduct.

Basic computer proficiency.

Ability to wear lead aprons for extended periods.
Education & Certifications:
-
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
-
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA
