Job Title: Medical Economics Senior Product Manager
Location: 3 days onsite - prefer Chicago, but open to Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas
Duration: 13 months Contract
Job Description:
The client is looking for an experienced health insurance industry professional with experience in medical economics analysis to lead product management workstreams for the client s Medical Economics Engine (MEE).
The MEE is part of a multi-year journey at client to consolidate disparate data sources into a single source of truth to drive efficiency, improve accuracy of analysis, and enable teams to deliver more actionable insights around drivers of healthcare costs. The client has defined the key attributes of the initial pilot of the MEE and high-level business requirements for subsequent launches of the product. The MEE consists of a cloud-based data layer built on a Microsoft tech stack, with insights enabled through PowerBI performance dashboards, and a query able data layer with access to raw data.
The MEE leadership team needs an experienced product management leader to lead product development & support data governance processes:
Product Development
Build and lead UAT exercise for each MEE release and ensuring successful validation
Define the product by gathering & managing business requirements including use cases, priority metrics, dashboard functionality, visualizations, target audiences, and phased prioritization
Monitor client s internal reporting and analysis needs to inform MEE requirements and roadmap
Create and manage a strategic product roadmap aligned with business goals and stakeholder needs
Partner cross-functionally with stakeholders including: Performance Analysis, Corporate Strategy, Network, Actuarial, Finance, Enterprise PMO, Clinical, Data and Analytics Solutions (DAS), Medicare & Medicaid Analytics teams
Data Governance
Partner with technical SMEs to ensure high level business requirements are properly translated to technical requirements.
Ensure requirements enable the build of current and future releases of the MEE by back end and front end data teams
Ensure proper data governance is deployed for new sources of data and metrics included in MEE
As new data sources and metrics are identified for inclusion in the MEE, this professional needs to partner with data teams to ensure metrics are captured from the appropriate internal data environments, calculations and business rules are consistently applied, and business owners are identified for follow-up questions
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of product management or similar experience in the health insurance industry
Strong understanding of healthcare economics, cost drivers, and industry challenges
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers
Proven track record of successful product launches and lifecycle management
Preferred Skills:
Master s degree in related field (e.g., MBA, Master of Healthcare Administration, or related discipline)
Familiarity with data analysis tools (SQL, R) and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau)
Broad knowledge of healthcare data standards
