Summary:
- The Patient Services Representative III – Floater (PSR III) is responsible for providing high-quality phlebotomy services and patient support across multiple locations.
- This role represents the company’s front-line in-patient interactions—ensuring accurate specimen collection, excellent customer service, and adherence to safety and confidentiality standards.
- The “Floater” designation means flexibility to travel and cover multiple sites as business needs change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, and other specimen collection procedures (pediatric, geriatric, and forensic).
- Accurately label and verify patient samples while maintaining strict chain-of-custody and confidentiality.
- Provide a professional and compassionate patient experience, explaining procedures clearly.
- Process, prepare, and handle specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation.
- Ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards in all work environments.
- Travel to different collection sites as needed, often with short notice.
- Serve as a role model for professionalism and leadership behaviors within the team.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred)
- Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, and WA; preferred elsewhere)
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections)
- At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center (preferred)
- Customer service and data entry experience (preferred)
Skills:
- Excellent phlebotomy and specimen-handling skills
- Strong customer service and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, sites, and workloads
- Proficiency with data entry and patient record systems
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (clean driving record)
