Job Title: QC Lab Technician
Duration: 6 months Temp
Location: Kingstree, SC (100% onsite)
Shift: 12-hour rotating shift.


Job Description:
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related science is preferred. Associates degree in a scientific field with 2 yrs. experience.

Top 3 skills: Computer Literacy, Exp in a GLP Laboratory Setting/Lab, Attention to Detail, able to work independently.
( PLUS)- Gas Chromatography Exp.

YES -Additional Physical Fit Test Required: No Preferred Location

Interview Process: Team call, Second round - In Person

Provides direct support to internal customers and indirect support to external customers through analysis of raw materials, in-process sample testing, and final product release testing.

The successful candidate must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift.

Position Context
This position provides support to the Nutritional Products Kingstree manufacturing site. HNC is the largest Business Group in the Life Sciences Division of *** and is present in over 40 countries comprising of the complete value chain from R&D to customer distribution. The organization is divided into global functions/business units of R&D, Operations (Product Management, M&T, Sourcing, DSCM, Quality), Finance, IT, HR, and two commercial business lines of Animal Nutrition and Health and Human Nutrition and Health (including Personal Care).

Each function/business has a global team to provide direction, standards, and focus to ensure delivery of the HNC Dual Track strategy (innovate and sustain).

HNC continues to grow organically as well by targeted acquisitions within the context of increasing quality and process efficiencies as well as strengthening the product portfolio in the global markets. The investment in innovative products is significant and day-to-day business within each function/business unit incorporates both aspects of the Dual track strategy.

Position Content
Areas of Accountability/Responsibility
1. Follows all Standard Operating Procedures, Job Safety Analyses, and Work Instructions as written.
2. The planning, organization and sharing of the workload, as well as knowledge that is critical to department operation with all team members is essential to the success of *** and thus an absolute requirement for all staff members.
3. Actively participate in shift changeover to relay pertinent information
4. Promote an inclusive, cooperative team environment through professional, diplomatic communication and actions.
5. Support company strategic initiatives such as 5S, DICI & Kaizen events.
6. Perform routine analytical testing on oil and biomass samples (including FFA, Peroxide Value, and moisture) following strict Standard Operating Procedures to ensure product quality.
7. Support laboratory operations by assisting with sample preparation, tanker release inspections, and documenting any deviations or out-of-specification results for senior technician review.
8. Accurately record and report data.
9. Maintains Good Documentation Practices as per cGMP.
10. Maintains lab reagents and consumables inventory.
11. Manages hazardous waste streams from generation in the quality lab to accumulation storage location.
12. Demonstrates ability to use appropriate tools and skills to complete assigned tasks.
13. Independently executes directions from management.
14. Demonstrates proficient verbal, written and computer skills.
15. Executes other duties assigned by management.
16. Report any quality deviations or non-conformances that are observed.
17. Support routine Quality talks/briefings with staff to raise Quality awareness.

SHE
1. Knows and follows all *** Life Saving Rules.
2. Displays and promotes positive safety behaviors at all times; uses proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment and procedures to ensure that self and others go home safe each day; that area and equipment operate at the highest safety levels; that all people in the area (personnel, visitors, contractors, etc.) comply with the safety directives.
3. Acts in such a way that safety awareness and accident prevention are considered in performing all tasks; responsible for working in a SHE responsible manner and reporting all SHE incidents, shows leadership by working to SHE standards and encouraging employees to work to the same standards.
