 Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Duration: 3 months
Location: Ann Arbor, MI 48109

Job Description

Unity Lab Services provides a single source for coordinated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customers’ laboratory business needs.
This position is focused primarily on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services’ core offerings, including order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, chemical tracking, and glass-wash operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory services such as glassware collection/cleaning and biological waste collection/sterilization.
  • Deliver direct shipment orders to end users; perform deliveries as required.
  • Promote personal growth and development by staying current on new policies and improvements without constant supervision.
  • Address customer concerns, resolve dissatisfaction, and quickly identify corrective actions with a goal of first-call resolution within established turnaround times.
  • Embrace Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.
  • Represent Client Scientific professionally and positively at all customer locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Requirements



Experience

  • Required:
    • 1–2 years of equivalent experience (material handling, lab-related work).
    • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 30–40 lbs consistently; up to 50 lbs occasionally.
    • Ability to walk 6–8 miles per day.
    • Proven customer service skills.
    • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
    • Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in a laboratory setting or services.
    • Pallet jack experience.
    • Basic computer/software skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.


Skills & Abilities

  • Basic computer literacy; intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • High level of confidentiality (customer and Fisher).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently at customer locations when required.
  • Work environments include offices, cubicles, shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage areas, and laboratories.
