Position Overview:
- As a Safety Analyst at John Deere Waterloo Foundry located in Waterloo, Iowa, you will assist the Safety Lead in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating health and safety management programs and processes promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all appropriate laws, regulations, and standards at a complex Foundry facility. In addition, you will:
- Analyze appropriate health and safety metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Research and document best practices for implementation
- Generation of weekly, monthly, and annual statistical graphs and scorecard KPI’s
- Notifications to supervisors to meet their safety KPI’s
- Weekly presentation of safety metrics during leadership meeting
- Conduct, incident investigations, and ergonomic evaluations
- Assist in corrective action development and ensure follow-up
- Utilize Cority software to manage
- Near Miss and Injury data management
- Corrective Actions
- 300, 300A, BLS Survey
- Conduct periodic inspections, risk assessment
- Powered Industrial Trucks Audits (Daily Inspections Checks)
- SEAMS Scheduling and Facilitation (Graphs, Past Due Reports)
- LOTO, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Electrical JSA floor verification of usage PPE Program Management floor audits, Eye Injury reduction program eyeglasses/ goggles usage
- Develop and deliver safety education and track training completion for employees
What Skills You Need:
- 1 or more years of experience using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
- Strong skill set in creating spreadsheets, pivot tables, and slide presentations.
- Conducting investigations to determine root cause and trends analysis
- Applying governmental/agency regulatory requirements or legislation, occupational health principles, occupational safety programs, and ergonomic principles in the workplace
- Implementing occupational health, safety, industrial hygiene, and ergonomic principles for an organization or business unit
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with both salary and wage personnel while managing conflict resolution
- The ability to work independently.
- Must be fully comfortable working onsite in a factory setting and with occasional travel between facilities.
What Makes You Stand Out:
- OSHA 30-hour training in General Industry or Construction Safety
- Experience working in manufacturing or factory environment
- Experience working with collective barProducting units
Education:
- Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Ergonomics, Kinesiology, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related discipline
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Non-safety bachelor’s degree: a recognized safety certification or certificate will be accepted. 3 or more years of experience as an Occupational Health and Safety professional in a manufacturing or industrial environment
