Schedule & Location

13-week contract with potential for extension

Primary work location: 1000 E Paris Drive SE, Suite 214

Monthly travel required (once per month) to West MI Gastroenterology Clinic in Muskegon on a pre-scheduled date

Shift timing will vary based on the monthly clinic patient schedule

Candidates must be willing and available to travel as required
Required Qualifications
-
Minimum 34 years of Medical Assistant (MA) experience
-
Current MA certification
-
BLS certification (American Heart Association required)
-
EPIC Outpatient experience
-
Excel proficiency preferred
Job Responsibilities
-
Patient rooming and taking vital signs
-
Appointment scheduling
-
Prior authorizations
-
Medication request review
-
Front desk and clerical duties as needed

Assisting with supply ordering

Supporting additional tasks as assigned
This is a small clinic environment; flexibility and willingness to assist with administrative duties are expected.

Job Summary:
Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).
Responsibilities:
Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.
Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
May document the provider's encounter with patients. Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider. Transcribes patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
Education:
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Skills:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Required Credential(s):
BLS Provider . American Heart Association.
Medical Assistant certification. Any issuing authority accepted.
Complexity of Work:
Within Product of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
