Medical Assistant II

Length: 3-Month Contract
Schedule: Mon–Thu 8:00–5:00, Fri 8:00–2:00
Summary:
Seeking an experienced Medical Assistant II to support a high-risk OB clinic providing prenatal and postpartum care to complex obstetric patients. The role requires strong patient-facing skills, efficient clinic workflow management, and the ability to support providers in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates bring 1–2 years of OB/GYN clinic experience, familiarity with Epic EMR, and strong customer-service competencies.
Key Responsibilities:

Welcome and assist patients, families, and visitors with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.

Provide timely updates on appointments, delays, and clinic processes.

Assist with patient flow, rooming, vital signs, POCT urine and glucose testing, chaperoning provider exams, lab order entry, and stocking rooms.

Identify and report prolonged wait times; support service-recovery efforts for dissatisfied patients.

Obtain translation services as needed; communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers.

Participate in clinic meetings, mandatory trainings, and daily planning for optimal patient flow.

Notify licensed staff or supervisor if unable to complete assigned tasks.

No medication administration required.
Required Skills & Knowledge:

Knowledge of MA patient-care tasks, appointment scheduling, medical terminology, and managed-care processes.

Strong interpersonal communication, time-management, and customer-service skills.

Proficiency with computers and clinic equipment.

Ability to make quick, independent decisions and work proactively.

Spanish/English bilingual preferred.
